How AI Icebreakers Work
When a Gettit Plus user opens a new conversation with no existing messages, three AI-generated icebreaker suggestions appear above the message input. Each is generated in real time by a server-side route that calls an AI language model API with context from the recipient’s profile — their bio, lifestyle fields, relationship goals, and visible interests.
The suggestions are genuinely profile-aware: they reference specifics about the person being messaged rather than generating generic openers. A user with a hiking photo and travel-focused bio gets different suggestions than one whose profile emphasizes cooking and local neighborhood spots.
Tapping any suggestion auto-fills the message input. The user can send it as-is, edit it, or write their own entirely.

Technical Transparency
The AI integration runs entirely server-side. Profile data is used within the request context and is not stored or used for model training. The feature is explicitly labeled as AI-suggested in the UI.
