Gettit's Incognito Mode Lets You Browse Dating Profiles Completely Invisibly — No Other App Offers This for Under $30/Month

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | March 7, 2026 | NEW YORK, NY
New York City, March 2026 — Gettit announces Incognito Mode, a Plus-tier feature that makes users completely invisible on the dating grid: no presence dot, no grid appearance, no discoverability — while still allowing them to browse freely, view profiles, and initiate conversations entirely on their own terms.
What Incognito Mode Does
When a Gettit Plus user activates Incognito Mode, three things happen simultaneously. First, they disappear from the proximity grid entirely — no other user scrolls past their card. Second, their online status is suppressed everywhere: the presence dot on grid cards, the chat header indicator, and the Online Now filter all reflect them as offline. Third, they are excluded from the Who’s Out Tonight availability layer.
They can still browse freely, view any profile, send Sparks, and message existing connections. Incognito is a one-way mirror: they see everyone; no one sees them.
The feature is enforced at the server layer and cannot be bypassed by a modified client.
Why Invisible Browsing Matters
Dating apps are inherently exposed environments. Every time you open the grid, your presence is potentially visible to colleagues, neighbors, family members, or exes. For many users — particularly those in smaller social networks, professional environments, or sensitive personal situations — that visibility is a genuine barrier to engagement.
Incognito Mode removes that barrier entirely. Users can explore, assess whether the app is right for them, and initiate connections only when they choose to be visible. It’s browsing with dignity.
“A lot of people don’t use dating apps because they’re worried about who might see them. That’s a completely reasonable concern that no one in this industry has properly addressed. Incognito Mode is our answer: you decide when you’re visible, full stop.”

Incognito Mode and the Gettit Privacy Stack
Incognito Mode sits within a broader privacy architecture that includes neighborhood-level location fuzzing, user-controlled online status and distance visibility, read receipt suppression, auto-delete message settings, and GDPR data export. Every privacy control on Gettit is server-enforced — applied before data reaches any client.
“Privacy isn’t a feature you add at the end. It’s a constraint you design around from the beginning. Every system in Gettit — the grid, the presence layer, the chat, the location — was built assuming users deserve control over their own visibility.”
