Gettit Introduces the Response Rate Badge — The Only Dating App Feature That Tells You Whether Someone Actually Replies
March 24, 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | March 25, 2026 | NEW YORK, NY
New York City, March 2026 — Gettit announces the Response Rate Badge, a transparency feature displaying each user’s actual message reply rate on their profile — visible before you send a single message, expressed in plain human language rather than opaque algorithmic scores.
The Four Response Rate Buckets
Every Gettit profile displays one of four Response Rate labels, calculated from that user’s actual message response history within the app:
| Label | Reply Rate | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Always Down | 86–100% | Replies reliably, consistently, quickly |
| Usually Vibing | 56–85% | Engaged with occasional misses |
| Selective | 26–55% | Replies when they’re feeling it |
| Slow Burn | 0–25% | Low rate; may browse without engaging |
Labels are intentionally conversational rather than numerical. A precise percentage invites gaming; a plain-English description is more honest and more useful in practice.
Why No Other App Publishes This
The absence of response rate data from every major dating app is not an oversight — it’s a business decision. Apps that monetize through boosts and super likes benefit from the uncertainty that drives repeated attempts. If you knew a profile had a 4% response rate, you’d be less likely to spend a token on them.
Low-engagement users are also still counted as monthly active users — surfacing their Slow Burn status would expose the gap between total users and genuinely engaged users.
“We thought about what information users actually need to make good decisions. Not an algorithmic ‘Most Compatible’ score that means nothing. Real information: does this person reply? That’s something you can actually use.”
— Jax Sterling, CEO & Co-Founder, Gettit
Calculated Responsibly
The Response Rate Badge is calculated from response history to first messages received within Gettit only. It is not derived from external data, not correlated with other apps, and not shared with advertisers. It uses a rolling window so it reflects current behavior, not a bad patch from months ago.
View data and response rate calculations are included in GDPR data export.
The Anti-Ghosting Stack
- Who’s Out Tonight — are they here right now?
- Response Rate Badge — do they typically reply?
- AI Icebreakers — what do you even say?
- Selfie Verification — is there actually a real person there?
Competitor Comparison
| Platform | Response Data Available |
|---|---|
| Tinder | ’Recently Active’ only — temporal, not behavioral |
| Hinge | ’Active Today’ on some profiles |
| Grindr | Online status only |
| OkCupid | Had response rates; deprecated years ago |
| Gettit | Four plain-English buckets, visible on every profile |
“OkCupid used to show response rates. They removed it. We think that was a mistake — it’s the single most useful piece of behavioral data on a dating app, and we’re bringing it back properly.”
— Jax Sterling, CEO & Co-Founder, Gettit
