For Immediate Release
Gettit's Video Intro Is the Only Dating App Video Feature Tied to Verified Identity — An Unverified Video Is Just Another Fake

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | March 22, 2026 | NEW YORK, NY
New York City, March 2026 — Gettit announces Video Intro, a Plus-tier profile feature that adds a short introductory video to user profiles — with a critical distinction no competitor has shipped: Video Intro requires selfie verification, making it the only dating app video feature tied to confirmed real identity.
What Video Intro Does
Video Intro adds a video layer to the Gettit profile. When a user views a profile with a Video Intro, a play button appears on the profile card. The video plays in a fullscreen viewer with per-video reporting available.
Videos are uploaded via our video delivery infrastructure — handling upload, transcoding, and global CDN delivery. The upload flow runs through the same content moderation pipeline as photos: CSAM detection and NSFW moderation run on every video before publication.
Selfie verification is a prerequisite. A user who hasn’t completed selfie verification cannot activate Video Intro. This is a deliberate design choice, not a technical limitation.
“Anyone can upload a video. Stolen clips, old footage, AI-generated faces — none of that gets caught by a video feature alone. We tied Video Intro to selfie verification because a video is only worth anything if you know the person in it is actually the person you’re talking to.”
— Jax Sterling, CEO & Co-Founder, Gettit
The Competitor Video Landscape
| Platform | Feature | Identity Verified? |
|---|---|---|
| Hinge | Video Prompts | No |
| Bumble | Video Date (in-app calls for matches) | No |
| Tinder | Face to Face (matched users only) | No |
| Grindr | No structured video profile feature | — |
| Gettit Plus | Profile-level Video Intro | Yes — selfie verification required |
Why Video Changes the Dynamic
Photos are static and easily faked. A selfie-verified profile confirms the face in the photos is real — but it doesn’t convey how someone speaks, moves, or presents themselves. Video Intro adds the dimension that most directly replicates the first-impression information you’d get from meeting someone in person: voice, energy, personality.
Beta testing shows profiles with Video Intro receive significantly higher Spark rates and better first-message response rates than photo-only profiles.
Content Safety on Video
Every video uploaded goes through our video delivery system for transcoding before storage. CSAM detection and NSFW content moderation run on video frames. Severity scores that trigger the CSAM cascade result in immediate account suspension and federal reporting — the same pipeline applied to photos.
Per-video reporting is available in the fullscreen viewer, giving users a direct path to flag problematic content separately from reporting a profile.
“We could have shipped Video Intro as a simple upload field. It would have been faster. Instead we built moderation, verification gating, and reporting into it from day one — because a video feature with shortcuts is a harassment feature waiting to happen.”
— Jax Sterling, CEO & Co-Founder, Gettit
